I was born in Poznan, Poland in 1989. As a teenager I decided to continue my education in a french highschool in Annonay, Ardèche. After passing my final exams I headed to Paris to pursue my various endeavours and further education at Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III University.

 

 

Early yet, fascinated by the storytelling process, I studied french modern literature. Somewhere in the middle of Balzac and Zola classes, I realized how thin the border between the fiction and the so called „real life” is. And then I discovered that you can actually tell your stories with a camera.

 

 

In 2012, with a master’s degree in documentary cinema directing,

I graduated from Université Paris Diderot where I completed a documentary programme Le Documentaire : Ecriture du Monde Contemporain (DEMC). My thesis concerned the storytelling process during the editor’s work.

 

 

After finishing my studies I was hired as an assistant editor in a french production company L’Oeil Sauvage. I worked on full-lenght documentaries such as „De Chair et de Lait” (dir.Bernard Bloch) or

„Fort interieur” (dir. Chris Pellerin). In that time I was also working as a camera operator and editor for a Parisian company Visioscene, producing trailers and commercials for the biggest french cultural institutions such as Les Théatres Parisiens Associés, Editions Folio, Opéra de Paris and many more.

 

In the end of 2013 I got into a post-graduate programme of the Wajda Film School in Warsaw, Poland. During those two years I studied and practiced documentary directing under the tutelage of Oscar’s nominee Marcel Lozinski and Jacek Blawut - two biggest polish documentary directors.

 

Meanwhile I continued to work as an editor for a Polish National Broadcast Television (TVP) and as a cinematographer and editor in various film and television projects.

 

My heart belongs to the documentary genre or, as the French like to call it, „documentaire de création”. As a professional editor and director I continue to develop my career in diverse fields: feature films, broadcast shows, cultural videos and many more.
